St. John’s is blessed with a learning team devoted to teaching children about the love of God, about following Jesus, and loving the world God loves. Sunday school meets at 9:00 AM, gathering in a special sanctuary designed to introduce them to the liturgy and the jobs of worship assistant, acolyte and communion server. After an all age group worship, they separate to classrooms by age. On fifth Sundays they serve as the acolytes, readers, and worship assistants in the main sanctuary.
Throughout their Christian formation at St. John’s they learn the values of justice, peace, love, and respect. Every Sunday our young people close the service by gathering at the back of the sanctuary to provide the dismissal, “We are the body of Christ raised up for the world. Let’s go help Jesus!”
