St. John’s Cemetery

Over 200 years old, the cemetery at St. John’s is possibly one of the first burial and still existing sites in southern Montgomery County, Ohio.  The oldest visible tombstone is one for Christina Baum who died and was buried in 1806.  The grave of Michael Hilegas, the great-nephew of the first Treasurer of the United States Michael Hilgas is also buried there.  The last burial that closed St. John’s Cemetery was that of Dr. Jacob Harold, a former pastor, who died in 1975 and rests alongside his wife Edit.
